Job summary

Groundswell is seeking a seasoned Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate secure AWS infrastructure for mission-focused platforms. You will implement containerized services with Kubernetes, develop IaC and CI/CD workflows, and ensure data integrity across APIs and data sources.

You will collaborate with architects, security teams, and customer stakeholders to deliver scalable, observable, and maintainable cloud solutions while adhering to compliance requirements and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and operating scalable, highly available systems in AWS.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container ecosystems (Docker/OCI).
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Github Actions, or AWS CodePipeline).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Knowledge of AWS networking (VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups).
• Experience implementing cloud security controls (identity, encryption, logging, monitoring).
• Ability to diagnose distributed-system failures and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate AWS infrastructure and services for secure, scalable mission platforms.
• Build and operate containerized services with Kubernetes and related cloud-native tech.
• Develop and enforce Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD workflows for repeatable environments.
• Integrate data and services across APIs and data sources while preserving security and provenance.
• Apply cloud security practices across identity, access control, encryption and logging.
• Instrument systems for health, performance, and incident response; drive root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, data specialists, security teams, and stakeholders.
• Produce architecture notes, runbooks, and deployment guidance for maintainability.
