Job summary

Andromeda Robotics is building the social intelligence layer for humanoid robots. We seek a lead engineer to found our Mission Autonomy team, owning Abi’s long‑duration decision‑making and orchestrating eight‑hour shift plans.

You will balance research with practical robotics and collaborate across autonomy, perception, and platform teams. You will prototype, evaluate, and deploy MA architectures from ground up, training with world models and simulation tools, and enabling Abi to interact safely

Qualifications

• 5+ years building autonomous systems in robotics or related field.
• Experience with autonomous decision-making architectures and deployment lifecycles.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals across planning, perception, and control.

Responsibilities

• Design the Mission Autonomy architecture and roadmaps.
• Prototype mission autonomy loops in simulation and real-world settings.
• Collaborate with voice agent, mobile autonomy and gestures teams.
• Define interfaces and contracts for surrounding systems.
• Shape action primitives and ensure safe degradation and recovery.
• Establish deployment patterns from simulation to demonstrations on Abi.
• Build an evaluation system with benchmarks and metrics for long-horizon tasks.
• Own technical direction and drive cross-team design conversations.
