Delta Solutions & Strategies seeks a Missile Warning (MW) SME to support HQ US Space Force (HQ USSF) S5/8. The role focuses on developing, guiding, and implementing MW/MT capability requirements to improve mission effectiveness and ensure timely POM execution.

The candidate will draft and staff critical documents, coordinate with the Joint Staff and Service stakeholders, and manage current and future system requirements while maintaining security clearances and engaging cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree plus extensive experience in operations, engineering, science, data science, software, AI/ML, policy, or planning.
• Experience writing JFRP and capability requirements for space systems (desired).

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise to draft MW/MT requirements documents for HQ USSF.
• Staff requirements through USSF/JFRP channels.
• Research sources to support document writing efforts.
• Ensure documents align with NDS, CJCSI, CSO priorities, and JFRP.
• Manage current capability requirements owned by USSF.
• Write capability requirements for future MW/MT systems.
• Perform routine staff functions (responding to HQ taskers, prep for leaders, cross-functional meetings, project management).
• Write/analyze JFRP operational capability documents (MARD, DOTmLPF-P changes).
• Familiarize with ETMS2 and KM/DS tools per JFRP timelines.
• In-depth knowledge of MW/MT/MD systems or NC3 systems.

Job description

Delta Solutions & Strategies is seeking a Missile Warning (MW) SME to support the Headquarters United States Space Force (HQ USSF) DCSO Strategy, Plans, Programs and Requirements, S5/8. The MW SME will provide technical support to analyze, assess, develop, guide, and implement HQSF Missile Warning (MW)/Missile Tracking (MT) operational capability requirements essential to facilitating timely implementation of capability gap solutions associated with mission needs and harnessing opportunities to improve operational mission effectiveness. S5/8 is responsible for carrying out and executing strategic planning, long-range resource allocation, and developing, directing, and conducting USSF programming activities necessary to complete the USSF Program Objective Memorandum (POM). Additionally, the S5/8 delivers integrated Service space strategies, policies, and requirements to provide organized, trained, and equipped space forces for employment by Joint Force Commanders. What you will be doing:

• Provide expertise in the MW/MT enterprise to assist/advise the requirements writing team in drafting necessary documents in a timely manner.
• Initiate and staff requirements documents through the appropriate Service (USSF) and Joint Force Requirements Process (JFRP) channels.
• Research relevant sources for gathering pertinent information in support of document writing efforts.
• Ensure requirements documents are aligned with the current National Defense Strategy (NDS), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Instructions (CJCSI), Chief of Space Operations (CSO) priorities, CSO approved Force Designs, and JFRP Manual.
• Manage Current Capability requirements owned by the USSF.
• Write capability requirements for future MW/MT systems.
• Perform routine staff functions - responding to HQ taskers, prepping material for senior leaders, coordinate cross-functional meetings, and managing projects with timeliness and professionalism.
• Writing/analyzing JFRP operational capability requirements documents to include but not limited to: Mission Area Requirements Documents (MARD), "Joint Doctrine Organization Training materiel Leadership Personnel Facilities - Policy (DOTmLPF-P) Change Recommendation" (DCR) Documents.
• Familiarization with the Service (USSF) and Joint Staffing processes for staffing requirements documents through the "Enterprise Task Management Software Solution" (ETMS2) and "Knowledge Management/Decision Support" (KM/DS) tool IAW JFRP established timelines.
• In depth knowledge in at least one MW/MT/MD system and/or "National Command, Control, Communication (NC3) System (e.g. Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS), Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) ground systems, Missile Defense systems, etc.)"
• Operational experience with command and control of satellites.
• Be familiar and coordinate with all relevant stakeholders in the MW/MT/MD "Community of Interest" (e.g. Space Warfighting Analysis Center, Space Development Agency, Space Systems Command, Missile Defense Agency, HQ Space Operations Command, U.S. Space Command, Intelligence Community (IC) etc.) that are necessary for the effective development of requirements.
• Master's Degree plus a minimum of 15 years of experience in an Operations, Engineering, Scientific, Data Science, Software Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Analysis, Policy or Planning field, or equivalent experience/responsibility.
• Experience writing JFRP and Capability Requirements for Space Systems (desired) or military systems.
• TS/SCI Security Clearance
