Job summary

Applied Research Associates (ARA) currently has an opening for Staff Missile Test Engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center – Indian Head, MD. The role requires real-time software development, missile/flight simulation, and extensive testing across SOPs, with on-site duties at NSWC-IH and potential CONUS travel.

Requirements include a BS in CS/CE/AE with 5–7 years of related experience, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• BS in CS, CE, or AE with 5–7 years of related experience.
• US citizen able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Willing to obtain medical certification for explosives and submit to drug testing.
• Experience with real-time software development, missile/flight sim, and software models.
• Experience in interface programming (Ethernet, serial, I/O) and data processing.
• Familiarity with Windows and optionally Linux; RTX and Visual Studio; FORTRAN, C/C++, Ada; Python.

Responsibilities

• Provide software and simulation expertise for operating and maintaining an FGT platform.
• Prepare test plans, present test readiness reviews, write test reports, and conduct testing per SOPs.
