Job summary

The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) in the Science, Systems, and Sustainment Division seeks a Research Analyst to model domestic and foreign missile systems and analyze missile capabilities. You will work with analysts to evaluate concepts, and you will report analytic results to inform defense decisions.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of missile-system experience, advanced degrees, and hands-on Python, C++, and AFSIM skills. Travel and security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience working with or studying missile systems.
• Master's Degree or Doctorate in Aeronautical/ Astronautical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and AFSIM.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with an integrated team of analysts to evaluate missile concepts.
• Serve as an expert on developmental missiles and current technology, including ballistic and hypersonic missiles.
• Conduct analyses supporting modeling and simulation of missiles and missile defenses.
• Produce high-quality reports and presentations summarizing analytic results.
