Job summary

JRC in Washington, DC seeks an SE & Sim Engineer to lead design, procurement, and activation of missile support equipment and simulators. You will coordinate with shipboard and system integration teams to ensure on-time delivery and effective training support for LOC missile operations.

Requirements include a engineering degree and 7+ years in defense systems, with MDAP leadership and DoD policy experience. A TS clearance is expected; travel and collaboration with RTX and NUWC are involved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems or related).
  • Minimum 7 years of defense system engineering with 2 years in technical leadership on an MDAP.
  • Knowledge of Missile or Ordnance handling equipment and missile simulators.
  • DoD 5000-series policies familiarity; DoDI 5000.88 and 5000.02.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, modification, procurement and activation of missile subsystem Support Equipment (SE).
  • Lead simulator design, procurement and delivery for weapon system development and testing.
  • Coordinate SE and Simulator deliveries with cross-functional teams to support training and integration testing.
  • Estimate, fund, schedule and manage delivery with the prime contractor (RTX) and NUWC for simulators and SE.
  • Support system-level testing at contractor and Navy facilities.
  • Mentor peers and junior staff on SE and Simulator capabilities.
