Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Missile Flight Software Engineer to join the Flight Software Design Engineering group. The role focuses on embedded software development for real-time flight systems and integration of new avionics components within the CPS program.

The engineer will work in a DevOps culture, contribute to software architecture, test methodologies, and collaborate with external partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in engineering or related technical field with progressive experience.
Experience programming in C/C++ is required.
Experience with Git version control is required.
Embedded software development for real-time systems is required.
Desirable: MISRA or AUTOSAR coding standards.

Responsibilities

Implement the software development lifecycle for CPS program.
Develop embedded software for real-time flight systems.
Write device drivers for RTOS and integrate new avionics components.
Assist with HWIL test assets and software test fixtures.
Support system-level hardware testing with assembly, integration, and test teams.
Architect and implement software test methodologies.
Act as technical lead for software tasks and contribute to architecture.
Coordinate with external partners to meet program objectives.
Travel periodically for integration and flight tests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
