Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in Huntsville, AL, seeks a Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC) Engineer to lead GNC algorithm development, high-fidelity missile flight simulations, and system-level analyses for advanced weapon programs.

You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, develop and validate simulation models, and contribute to technical briefings and deliverables while traveling up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or related field
• Solid foundation in GNC concepts and principles
• Experience with high fidelity flight simulations of missiles/projectiles/hypersonic systems
• Strong C/C++ development skills and Git version control
• GNC performance analysis using Matlab or Python
• Ability to communicate concepts clearly and work in evolving environments

Responsibilities

• Develop guidance, navigation and/or control algorithms under supervision and implement in C/C++ and FORTRAN-based six-DoF flight simulations
• Support small to medium engineering teams on precision munitions programs
• Analyze simulation, ground and flight test data for model validation and algorithm improvements
• Document simulation development and GA-EMS guidelines and best practices
• Prepare briefing materials for design reviews and GNC deliverables
• Collaborate with other GNC and simulation engineers and support proposals and white papers
