Job Summary

The Missile Defense Systems Analyst provides technical and operational analysis supporting Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) systems, command and control architectures, communications networks, weapon system integration, and mission performance assessments. The analyst evaluates system behavior through detailed analysis of operational data, communications logs, telemetry records, and test event data to assess system performance and support operational decision-making.

This position focuses on the analysis of uplink/downlink communications, datalink message flow, interface compliance, and end-to-end system performance within complex air and missile defense architectures. The analyst reviews system logs and message traffic, evaluates performance against technical requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICDs), conducts post-event assessments, and provides actionable recommendations to military and government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze uplink/downlink message traffic, communications logs, telemetry data, and system records to assess weapon system and network performance.
  • Evaluate message flow across missile defense architectures to verify proper transmission, reception, processing, and utilization of critical mission data.
  • Perform detailed analysis of communications protocols, message structures, and Interface Control Document (ICD) requirements to assess system compliance and identify anomalies.
  • Analyze test event data, mission data, and post-mission logs to characterize system behavior and determine root causes of performance issues.
  • Assess end-to-end interactions among command and control systems, communications networks, sensors, and weapon systems to evaluate mission effectiveness and system integration performance.
  • Support developmental testing, operational testing, system integration events, simulations, and field exercises through data collection, analysis, and post-event assessments.
  • Perform data reduction, trend analysis, statistical analysis, and performance assessments to identify operational impacts and opportunities for system improvement.
  • Develop technical reports, analytical products, briefings, and decision-support materials for government customers, military stakeholders, and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, operators, testers, and government personnel to investigate system behavior and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain analytical rigor while meeting critical deadlines in support of time-sensitive mission requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, Operations Research, Information Systems, or a related STEM discipline. Relevant military or industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
