Job description

Here's Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Practice Law, Not Business Development: Focus entirely on being an attorney. We handle client acquisition and business operations so you can concentrate on what you do best—practicing law and honing your craft.
  • Rewarding Compensation Structure: Start with a solid base salary of $95,000–$120,000 (based on experience), complemented by our individual bonus program and team-based incentives. Our performance-driven approach means your dedication and results directly enhance your earnings.
  • Balanced Caseload Structure: Your base salary covers management of 35 active misdemeanor cases, providing a sustainable foundation. For attorneys seeking additional earning potential, our bonus programs reward those who efficiently handle cases beyond this baseline.
  • Remote-First Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom of working from home, coming into the office only when court appearances require it. Our innovative technology solutions keep you connected and efficient.
  • Balanced, Supportive Environment: Thrive in our collaborative culture that genuinely values work-life balance, ongoing professional development, and a drama-free workplace built on mutual respect.
  • Legal Focus, Not Administrative Burden: Our support team handles the paperwork and administrative tasks, allowing you to dedicate your time to case strategy, client advocacy, and courtroom work.
  • Make a Meaningful Impact: Advocate for individuals facing misdemeanor charges and help them avoid the lifelong consequences of a single mistake. Your advocacy directly changes lives and creates second chances.
  • Community-Centered Practice: Serve diverse communities throughout Western Washington with exceptional legal representation in both English and Spanish.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a personal caseload of misdemeanor criminal defense cases from initial consultation through case resolution, with complete ownership of case strategy and execution.
  • Prepare and confidently take cases to trial when in the client's best interest, including jury selection, opening/closing arguments, witness examinations, and handling evidentiary issues.
  • Conduct comprehensive case analysis, including thorough evidence review, legal research, and development of effective defense strategies tailored to each client's unique situation.
  • Represent clients zealously at all court proceedings, including arraignments, pretrial hearings, motion practice, and negotiation of favorable plea agreements.
  • Maintain responsive and transparent client communication, ensuring clients fully understand their options, potential outcomes, and case progress at every stage.
  • Build strong professional relationships with prosecutors, judges, and court staff to advocate for clients' interests effectively.
  • Collaborate with our supportive team of legal professionals, leveraging collective expertise to deliver exceptional client representation.
Qualifications
  • Active Washington State Bar license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year handling criminal cases, with demonstrated ability to take cases to trial when necessary.
  • Strong working knowledge of Washington criminal court procedures, rules of evidence, and effective motion practice.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills, with the confidence to present compelling arguments in fast-paced courtroom environments.
  • Exceptional client communication abilities, including the capacity to explain complex legal concepts in accessible terms.
  • Detail-oriented case management skills with the ability to handle multiple matters efficiently while maintaining quality representation.
  • Former or current prosecutors and public defenders are strongly encouraged to apply — we maintain strict confidentiality throughout our hiring process.
