Mille Lacs County Assessor’s Office seeks a skilled Certified Assessor to accurately determine property values and classifications for tax purposes across residential, agricultural, and other real estate categories.

The role requires CMA licensure with CMA‑IQ and AMA timelines, a valid Class D driver's license, and capability to defend assessments at hearings. Join a dedicated team serving Mille Lacs County.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, and one year of experience in the property assessment field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current CMA licensure is required; must obtain CMA‑IQ licensure within two years and AMA licensure within five years of CMA licensure.
• Class D Driver’s License.

Responsabilités

• Appraises and determines value and classification for all property types for real estate tax purposes.
• Researches property ownership, interprets legal descriptions, and maintains assessment records.
• Inspects properties to determine quality of construction and condition; measures, photographs, and sketches structures.
• Establishes defendable estimated market values and defends assessment decisions at Board of Review and tax court.
• Communicates with property owners regarding valuations and tax processes; answers inquiries and explains determinations.
• Trains and aids Assessor Trainees as needed.
