Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer at the Northshore Mining Company facility in Silver Bay, MN. The role focuses on developing and implementing site-wide structural steel management plans, including assessments, prioritization, and maintenance strategies for long-term reliability.

Responsibilities include managing projects from concept to installation, coordinating with contractors, and producing AutoCAD/SolidWorks drawings. A Civil Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Structural Engineering emphasis preferred. Mechanical Engineering degree considered with demonstrated experience.
• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) license in Minnesota.
• Previous knowledge of project management and creation of work scopes.
• Previous project engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural engineering projects from concept to installation including design, calculations, drawings, cost estimates and contractor management.
• Ensure contract work is documented with specifications and scopes; coordinate with operations and safety requirements.
• Direct and coordinate work by engineering consultants and contractors.
• Provide structural assessments to management and engineers as needed.
• Develop and maintain a rolling five-year capital and maintenance plan for the facility.
• Produce design and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
