Job summary

McEwen Mining seeks a Security Technician to safeguard the Gold Bar Mine site, monitor access, conduct surveillance, and maintain security systems. You will ensure only authorized personnel enter the property and interact professionally with employees, contractors, and visitors.

This role requires keen attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to respond to security-related situations in a remote mining environment. 12-hour rotating shifts apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, military, or industrial site security preferred.
• Mining/remote work environment experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of CCTV and access control systems preferred.
• Familiarity with MSHA regulations and mining safety practices beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Monitor site access, conduct surveillance, and maintain security systems.
• Maintain a visible security presence and verify authorization for entrants.
• Issue and manage site badges, visitor passes, and temporary access credentials.
• Maintain entry logs and daily security reports; compile shift reports.
• Communicate security updates and coordinate with site personnel during emergencies.
• Support administrative tasks related to security operations.
