Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality seeks a Natural Resources Analyst in Cheyenne to regulate mining operations in District 1, under the Land Quality Division. You will inspect, review notifications, permits and licenses to ensure compliance with Wyoming mining rules and the Act.

Ideal candidates have a science background, plus knowledge of mineral exploration, GIS and field data collection. This exempt, state service role offers a strong benefits package and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in The Sciences.
• 1–2 years of progressive work experience (typically in The Sciences) with knowledge at the level of a Natural Resources Analyst.
• OR
• 4–6 years of progressive work experience (typically in The Sciences) with knowledge at the level of a Natural Resources Analyst.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, report, and review notifications, permits, and licenses related to mining operations regulated by the Land Quality Division to ensure compliance with the Wyoming Environmental Quality Act and Wyoming mining rules & regulations for coal and non-coal mines.
• Conducts permit reviews and analyzes technical information for mine notifications, licenses, and permit applications.
