Job summary

DGS Office of External Affairs in Wyoming seeks a Natural Resources Program Principal to lead frontline state mining regulation for southeast Wyoming, working with the Land Quality Division to enforce mining rules and regulations.

The role manages administrative and enforcement duties for diverse mining projects, conducts compliance reviews, inspections, permit analysis, and may serve as an expert witness in administrative and judicial proceedings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sciences or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of progressive work experience with knowledge at the level of a Natural Resources Analyst.
• Knowledge of mining extraction, environmental laws, and ability to interpret regulations.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply GIS software and field-capable tablets.
• Ability to conduct field inspections including travel over varied terrain and ability to write detailed reports and notices of violation.
