Job summary

Turner Staffing Group is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy equipment in mining operations. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose systems, and build safe, documented service logs as part of the operations team.

You will report to the Project Superintendent and work across internal and external teams, adapting to evolving tasks with a focus on reliability, accuracy, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Follow a consistent schedule to perform maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Perform repairs on equipment using tools and measuring instruments.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Conduce oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements and related services.
• Recondition and replace parts of heavy equipment as needed.
• Test equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Identify wear or tear and address maintenance needs.
• Produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
• Follow established procedures and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose and battery work.
• Replace worn parts and recondition components.
• Test and verify equipment after service and repairs.
• Prepare detailed service logs and maintenance reports.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to ensure safe operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
