Job summary

Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking a Field Safety Coordinator for the Elko, NV area. The role supports site safety initiatives, ensuring contractors meet client safety requirements, training standards and regulatory obligations in an active mining environment.

You will collaborate with contractors, site leadership and project teams to promote a strong safety culture, maintain compliance, and support safe execution of work on site. Local residency is expected with a four‑10 hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Mining experience required.
• Experience coordinating contractor safety in mining, construction or heavy industrial operations.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and contractor management practices.
• Experience reviewing worker training records, safety certifications, and contractor compliance documentation.
• Familiarity with site orientations, hazard assessments, safe work procedures and field safety inspections.

Responsibilities

• Verify contractor safety requirements and documentation before site work.
• Review training records, safety certifications, and qualifications of contractor personnel.
• Coordinate contractor onboarding and site safety orientations.
• Monitor contractor compliance with site safety standards and regulations.
• Conduct field safety inspections and hazard identifications.
• Work with contractors and site teams to implement corrective actions.
• Support hazard analyses, safe work planning and incident follow-up.
