Job summary

Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking a Field Safety Coordinator to join our Elko, Nevada-based team on-site in the Cortez area. The role focuses on maintaining safety standards for mining operations, ensuring contractors meet client requirements, and promoting a strong safety culture.

You will coordinate onboarding, verify training records, conduct field inspections, and assist with hazard analyses and incident follow-up, working closely with site leadership and contractors to support safe

Responsibilities

• Verify that contractors and subcontractors meet client safety requirements, policies, and procedures before commencing work on site.
• Review and validate contractor employee training records, safety certifications, qualifications, and required documentation.
• Coordinate contractor onboarding and site safety orientations to ensure workers are properly prepared and authorized to perform their assigned duties.
• Monitor contractor compliance with site safety standards, safe work procedures, and applicable occupational health and safety regulations.
• Conduct field safety inspections, workplace observations, and routine compliance checks to identify potential hazards and unsafe work practices.
• Work collaboratively with contractors and site personnel to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Support hazard assessments, job safety analyses, and safe work planning activities.
• Assist with the review and maintenance of contractor safety documentation, records, and compliance tracking systems.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and contractor coordination meetings.
• Support incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up activities as required.
