Job summary

Stantec is seeking a mid to senior level Project Manager in the Reno/Elko/Las Vegas area with 10+ years in mining-related environmental services and permitting. You will lead multiple planning and permitting projects, build client relationships, and develop business in the mining sector.

Ideal candidates have Nevada connections, Western US travel readiness, and strong skills in regulatory strategy, stakeholder engagement, and project leadership.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of environmental impact analysis methods for mining.
• Experience managing mining industry client relationships in environmental services.
• Preexisting relationships with mining companies in Nevada or nearby states.
• Willingness to travel within the Western US, including Nevada.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience managing multiple planning projects and teams.
• Proactive, collaborative problem solving with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Guide permitting and planning process; oversee budgeting, invoicing, schedule, and staffing.
• Mentor staff in technical practices, regulatory strategy, and project management.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and local governments.
• Manage ecological studies and technical surveys for mining projects.
• Oversee permitting/compliance projects in mining contexts.
• Conduct environmental analyses (field and desktop) and prepare reports under NEPA.
• Prepare NEPA docs including EISs, EAs, and CEs.
• Provide QA/QC for final products to ensure accuracy and compliance.
