Job summary

Warrior MetCoal is seeking a Mining Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting engineering and operations in a large-scale coal mining organization. You will work with experienced engineers, mine management, and operations to understand continuous and longwall mining, and coal preparation plant operations.

Current students pursuing Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related engineering disciplines will develop technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a college or university student and pursuing an engineering degree.
• Must maintain satisfactory academic standing.
• Strong interest in mining, engineering or related industry.

Responsibilities

• Partner with underground mining operations and engineering personnel to understand day-to-day coal mining operations.
• Assist with mine planning and scheduling activities and translate plans into daily operating plans.
• Assist with mine engineering projects, data collection, reports, drawings, maps and technical documentation.
• Participate in field inspections and identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, and costs.
• Develop understanding of safety, productivity and profitability through engineering decisions.
