Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America offers a paid internship for juniors and seniors in Mining Engineering or Geology to apply classroom learning on field projects at an aggregates site. You will support production goals and collaborate with engineers, managers, and field staff across departments.

The role combines office and field work, exposure to various weather conditions, and strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies. Summer PTO holidays and DEI events are included.

Qualifications

• Currently juniors and seniors working toward a degree in Mining Engineering or Geology.
• Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to motivate teams and manage several projects simultaneously.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Put education into action in the field to support and participate in assigned project work.
• Support plant operations in achieving production goals while partnering with engineers, managers, and production employees.
• Complete technical projects to gain an understanding of quarry or aggregate site operations.
• Learn the mission of production, maintenance, and quality departments and different job functions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
