Job summary

Michigan Paving and Materials, a CRH Americas company, seeks a summer intern in Mine Engineering for Monroe, MI. The program runs from mid-May to August 2027.

Interns must be enrolled in an accredited program and capable of outdoor and indoor work, with duties including field operations, mapping, data review, and safety compliance. Ideal candidates are pursuing a related degree, maintain a 2.75+ GPA, and can obtain MSHA/FAA certifications if required.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate must be currently enrolled in a college degree related to the industry.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 or better.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background checks.
• MSHA New Miner Training and FAA Part 107 Certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with team to review maps and drilling logs for deposit estimates.
• Assist in long-range planning designs and data.
• Identify safety hazards and respond to them appropriately.
• Operate sUAV for mine planning and topography mapping.
• Participate in field operations for aggregates and monthly projections.
• Shadow operations personnel to learn planning and objectives.
