Job summary

Blaschak Anthracite is seeking a Mining Engineer Intern to support exploration, reserves evaluation, and mine planning. You will assist in layout, field surveys, data analysis, and cost control under supervision, contributing to safe and compliant operations at active mine sites.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering and production teams, utilization of CAD/land-modeling tools, and application of math concepts to practical mining challenges.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in mining, agricultural, or civil engineering, surveying or related field; or 2 years of related experience.
• Mining and/or surveying knowledge or experience.
• Knowledge of college level chemistry and mathematics.
• Self motivated with good organizational and communicative skills.

Responsibilities

• Create an atmosphere that supports the Company's operations in your area of responsibility.
• Assist in prospecting and proving new reserves; evaluate mineability and impediments.
• Assist in layout of exploration to maximize utility and control costs.
• Plot test results for cross sections and geologic models.
• Assist in evaluating exploration drilling results and reserves vs. mine design.
• Coordinate with management to prepare mining designs/field layouts and ensure proper execution.
