Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a motivated Quarry Mining Engineering Intern to join our Kentucky team. The internship provides hands-on exposure to aggregate mining operations, supporting quarry planning, mine design, and production analysis in a dynamic production environment.

The role combines fieldwork and office assignments, with PPE provided and frequent collaboration with operations, maintenance, quality control, and leadership teams to drive safety and efficiency

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in Mining, Geological, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Interest in mining, aggregates, heavy industrial operations.

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Quarry Mining Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands‑on exposure to aggregate mining operations and the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic production environment. The selected candidate will gain practical experience supporting quarry operations, process improvements, mine planning, and operational efficiency initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist with quarry planning, mine design, and production analysis activities.

Work Environment

• Primarily based at an active quarry operation with exposure to outdoor weather conditions, uneven terrain, and industrial equipment.
• Combination of fieldwork and office-based assignments.
• Frequent interaction with operations, maintenance, quality control, and leadership teams.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) required and provided as appropriate for site activities.
