Job summary

Heidelberg Materials invites motivated undergraduates in Mining Engineering or Geology to join a field-and-office internship in the Texas/Burnet area. You will support plant operations, participate in project work, and learn quarry and aggregate site operations with engineers and managers.

This paid internship emphasizes safety, hands-on learning, and collaboration across production, maintenance, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mining Engineering or Geology with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Put your education into action in the field to support and participate in assigned project work.
• Support the plant operations in achieving production goals while partnering with experienced engineers, managers, and production employees in different departments.
• Complete technical projects to gain an understanding of the operations of a quarry or aggregate site.
• Learn the mission of the production, maintenance, and quality departments and different job and functions.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

• Current juniors and seniors working toward a degree in Mining Engineering or Geology.
• Commitment and engagement through a high level of work ethic and utilization of abilities for the best of the company.
• Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.

• Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects.

Work Environment:

Combination of office and field work.

Exposure to various weather conditions.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform manual labor tasks as needed.
