Job summary

The Freedom Mine is seeking a skilled Electrician to repair and maintain electrical mining equipment and facilities. The role involves inspecting systems, reading manuals, and ensuring safe operation of high voltage circuits.

Candidates should have an associate degree or equivalent experience, and pursue MSHA certification. The job requires physical work in all weather, adherence to safety procedures, and collaboration with maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical and/or equivalent experience is required.
• MSHA Green Card certification or ability to obtain a certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of National Electric Code and MSHA regulations is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair mine electrical equipment and record inspections.
• Read parts books and manuals; use electrical test instruments as needed.
• Maintain and repair high, medium, and low voltage systems safely.
• Install/remove power cable from high voltage circuits and perform troubleshooting on AC/DC systems.
• Follow MSHA rules and environmental regulations; maintain safe work practices.
• Operate equipment to diagnose problems and test repairs; keep work areas clean and safe.
