Job summary

West Virginia University Health System seeks a General Surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive hernia surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction in Morgantown. The successful candidate will be appointed at Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required and eligibility for state medical license.
• Board certification or eligibility in general surgery is required.
• Fellowship training or substantial demonstrated experience in complex hernia surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Join a growing multidisciplinary general surgery practice with focus on hernia surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction.
• Utilize robotic, laparoscopic, and open techniques to treat routine and complex cases.
• Participate in education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows; engage in clinical research and quality improvement.
• Contribute to program development and academic advancement within a collaborative environment.
