Job summary

Frontier School Corporation is seeking individuals to obtain and hold a yellow card in Indiana to transport Special Education students. The role involves completing required assessments, a physical, observation hours with a CDL driver, supervised driving, and annual safety training.

Applicants must demonstrate effective communication with students and maintain discipline on the bus while driving. Training and supervision are provided as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Must complete Indiana Department of Education pre-service class (3 days).
• Must pass a physical (physical cost reimbursed).
• Observe 4 hours with a CDL bus driver.
• Drive 8 hours with a CDL bus driver.
• Complete annual Indiana Department of Education safety class before 12/31/2021.

Job description

Candidates must obtain and hold a yellow card throught the state of Indiana.This allows the driver to transport Special Education students in the state of Indiana.

Job Requirements:

• 1.Take and pass all assessments involved in the Indiana Department of Education's three day pre-service class
• 2.Pass a physical (Frontier School Corporation will reimburse for the cost of the physical)
• 3.Observe four (4) hours with a Frontier School Corporation Bus Driver holding a CDL
• 4.Drive eight (8) hours with a Frontier School Corporation Bus Driver holding a CDL
• 5.Take the annual safety class from the Indiana Department of Education prior to December 31, 2021.
• 6.Be able to communicate effectively with students
• 7.Be able to maintain discipline on the bus while driving
• 8.Be able to do trouble shooting for minor maintanence issues on the bus
• 9.Board the bus and walk to the back of the bus.At the back of the bus, get out the back door.
