Job summary

SGS Navajo North Coal Lab is seeking a Laboratory Technician, Junior Minerals, to perform routine testing of solid, liquid, or gaseous samples under supervision. The role supports quality control and product development while following SOPs and maintaining accurate documentation.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with minimal to some laboratory experience. A valid MSHA certificate is required, and candidates should be prepared for 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends, and overtime

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Some laboratory experience is an asset.
• Science-related study is an asset.
• No experience required unless state law requires.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine laboratory testing following SOPs and methods.
• Prepares subsamples from client samples using defined methods.
• Weighs and digests samples for analysis.
• Maintains laboratory reports and logs client samples.
• Archives, logs and prepares labels for samples as required.
• Performs QA/QC checks on equipment and maintains a clean work environment.
• Ensures PPE and safety procedures are followed.
