Job summary

The Product Trainer 3 will serve as an experienced Mine Warfare Training Specialist/Instructor supporting the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCTSC) at the Littoral Training Facility, Pacific Fleet (LFTPAC). This role provides advanced classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction to U.S.

Navy personnel in mine warfare systems, operations, tactics, and associated combat-system subjects. The successful candidate will function as a Mine Warfare subject‑matter expert responsible for

Qualifications

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering technical instruction, operational training, or maintenance training in a military or technical environment.
  • Experience working with complex combat systems, sensors, weapons, or related naval warfare systems.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver formal classroom, laboratory, simulator, and hands‑on instruction in mine warfare systems, operations, procedures, tactics, and relevant technical subjects.
  • Prepare for and conduct assigned training events in accordance with approved Navy curricula, course schedules, and instructional standards.
  • Communicate complex technical and tactical concepts clearly to students of varying experience levels.
  • Demonstrate proper system operation, configuration, maintenance procedures, and tactical employment of applicable training equipment.
  • Administer written examinations, practical evaluations, and performance assessments; provide remediation as needed.
  • Evaluate student progress, document results, and maintain accurate attendance and training records.
  • Provide individualized coaching and remedial instruction to students requiring additional support.
  • Serve as a Mine Warfare subject‑matter expert and assist with related Surface Combat Systems training topics.
  • Review, validate, and update curricula, lesson plans, instructor guides, student materials, and training aids for accuracy and currency.
  • Recommend or develop revisions to training material based on changes in doctrine, systems, fleet requirements, or technical publications.
  • Support curriculum development, course maintenance, pilot instruction, and course validation activities.
  • Maintain proficiency with assigned systems, training devices, publications, operational procedures, and instructional methodologies.
  • Prepare classrooms, laboratories, simulators, and training equipment prior to scheduled instruction.
  • Identify equipment discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions to minimize training interruptions.
  • Participate in instructor standardization, certification, professional development, and quality assurance activities.
  • Coordinate effectively with U.S. Navy personnel, government representatives, instructors, curriculum developers, technicians, and contract team members.
  • Comply with all applicable security, safety, environmental, quality, and information‑assurance requirements.
  • Perform additional training support duties as required by the contract.

Summary

What You Must Have
  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance required by the contract.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance and maintain it throughout employment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retired or former U.S. Navy Fire Controlman, Mineman, or similarly qualified surface‑warfare professional with substantial mine warfare experience.
  • Recent operational or instructional experience involving mine warfare systems, doctrine, tactics, or deployment.
  • Prior experience supporting SCTSC, LFTPAC, or other U.S. Navy training commands.
  • Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC), Master Training Specialist (MTS), or equivalent instructor qualification.
  • Experience with Navy curriculum development and training‑system maintenance processes.
  • Familiarity with Navy instructional‑system design standards and training quality‑assurance requirements.
  • Experience operating or maintaining mine warfare training systems, simulators, or technical laboratories.
  • Knowledge of surface warfare doctrine, combat‑systems employment, and fleet training requirements.
  • Current security clearance, if already possessed.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is generally performed in a classroom, laboratory, or training‑facility environment.
  • Job performance may require occasional lifting and carrying of boxes, training equipment, or records typically not exceeding standard weight limits.
