Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Mine Surveyor to join a mining operation near Randburg, Gauteng. You will oversee surface and underground surveys, create and update mine plans, and ensure accurate spatial control for development and operations.

Responsibilities include data processing, reporting, and collaboration with engineers and geologists. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Vulcan, and Surpac is required, along with SA professional registration and field readiness.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Geomatics.
• Professional registration with a SA surveying body (e.g., PLATO) is essential.
• Minimum 4 years of Mine Surveyor experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Vulcan, Surpac or similar.
• Experience with surface and underground surveying principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surface and underground surveys to establish and maintain control networks.
• Perform volumetric calculations, stockpile surveys, and site reconciliations.
• Operate and maintain total stations, GPS/GNSS, and laser scanners.
• Process survey data to update mine plans, sections, and 3D models.
• Collaborate with mine engineers, geologists, and operations to provide spatial information.
• Prepare survey reports and record data in mine databases.
• Assist in setting out development, production areas, and infrastructure.
• Monitor ground movement and deformations as required.
