Morton Salt, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer at Weeks Island in Louisiana to apply engineering knowledge to project planning and execution.

Responsibilities include preparing capital and expense projects, supervising contractors, and supporting the maintenance team with new assets commissioning. The role requires working in an underground environment, coordinating with buyers and contractors, and maintaining accurate project records and mine drawings.

Qualifications

• Must have a Mine Project Engineer Degree.
• Able to work independently with little instruction.
• Experience in mining/industrial environments is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Conduct feasibility studies for proposed projects and estimate data, costs, and timelines.
• Prepare and submit expense and capital project requests for review.
• Design, develop, and supervise engineering projects and tasks.
• Maintain up-to-date project records and mine drawings."
• Coordinate purchases and inspections of equipment with vendors and contractors.
• Perform mine inspections to ensure safe operations and assist in ventilation studies.
• Coordinate construction work among engineers, contractors, and site personnel.
• Provide engineering advice to mine management on day-to-day operations.
