Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater LTD is seeking an mining engineer to provide engineering support for production stope designs and short-range planning at the Stillwater Mine in Nye, MT. You will work on stope/access design, ventilation, drainage and electrical installations, using diverse mining methods, and assess economic viability of plans.

Ideal candidates have 1–5 years of engineering experience, strong teamwork, and solid skills in rock mechanics, mine ventilation, and Deswik/AutoCAD.

Qualifications

BS in Mine Engineering or equivalent; 1–5 years engineering experience or 5–8 years equivalent work experience.
Strong leadership and teamwork skills; safety-focused in all tasks.
Familiarity with rock mechanics and mine ventilation principles; good communication skills.
Proficient with AutoCAD, Excel, and Word; ability to model and analyze mine designs.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for production stope designs and short-range planning.
Assist with stope and access design and associated infrastructure requirements (ventilation boreholes, drainage, electrical).
Apply various mining methods and assess economic viability under changing parameters.
Prepare yearly production budgets, monthly and quarterly forecasts, and manpower budgets.
