Job summary

Magris Talc is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to develop and maintain short- to medium-term mine plans for its Eastern Mining operations, including the Argonaut Mine in Vermont and the Penhorwood Mine in Ontario. The role supports remote technical operations from the GMP group and may provide site-based surveying assistance.

You will create 12–24 month plans, de-risk and optimize them, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting with cross-functional teams, while adhering to HSEQ standards and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in minerals/mining engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in mine operations preferred.
• Experience with Hexagon MinePlan 3D and Activity Scheduler preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Responsibilities

• Create 12–24 month mine plans aligned with longer-range plans.
• Reconcile actual performance vs. plan and re-forecast quarterly.
• Identify opportunities to de-risk and optimize plans; justify capital investments.
• Develop drill/blast pattern concepts and mine features (roads, ramps, dumps).
• Summarize plans for annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.
• Present plans to site teams and incorporate feedback.
• Adhere to HSEQ standards and company policies.
• Collaborate with geologists and long-range planners.
