Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to join the Enterprise Excellence team. You will perform mine planning for open-pit quarry, sand and gravel operations, and lead continuous improvement in planning standards.

Collaborate with operations to develop short-, mid-range, and life-of-mine plans, analyze geological data, and conduct feasibility studies to support new projects and optimal extraction sequences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mining, geology or civil engineering.
• 2+ years of mine planning experience, preferably in aggregate or industrial minerals.
• Experience developing mine plans for surface and underground operations.
• Experience with exploration drilling and geologic interpretation.
• PE or PG license (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Perform and/or support mine planning for open pit and sand/gravel ops.
• Lead continuous improvement in mine planning through standards and best practices.
• Develop short-, mid-range, and life-of-mine plans with operations teams.
• Analyze geological data and recommend extraction sequences and equipment use.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new projects.
• Monitor mining progress and address deviations with reconciliation plans.
• Collaborate with operations on plan execution and site development.
• Provide cost-effective, creative mine planning solutions.
