Job summary

Arcosa Materials in Arlington, TX seeks a Mine Planning Engineer to develop and optimize mine plans supporting sand, gravel, and crushed stone operations. You will leverage GIS data, drilling results, and resource models to create actionable plans for efficient production and cost control.

The role requires 5+ years of mine planning experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex solutions to technical and non‑technical teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Civil Engineering with mining focus.
  • 5+ years of experience in mine planning and optimization for surface operations.
  • Proficiency in mine planning, GIS, and software such as Deswick, Vulcan, AutoCAD, Carlson, ArcGIS, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, spatial, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annualized life‑of‑mine plans for surface mine production considering resource availability, constraints, and objectives.
  • Deliver optimized design schedules for full life of mine: stripping, extraction, haulage, waste disposal, reclamation.
  • Collaborate with geologists to interpret drilling data and support mineral reserve estimates for compliance.
  • Coordinate with operations to execute mine plans and prepare documentation, maps, and schedules.
