Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation operates the Round Mountain mine in Nevada and is seeking a Shift Supervisor to direct assistant mine supervisors in executing the mine plan with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

You will assign crews, supervise shift activities, and develop crew skills while coordinating with Mine General Supervisor to meet daily production goals and ensure safe execution of mining operations. Strong leadership and safety discipline are essential.

Qualifications

Five years of heavy equipment operating experience in a mining or construction environment.
Two years of direct supervisory experience in a mine production environment.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Strong understanding of mining techniques, equipment, materials, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Assign crews and equipment to meet daily production goals.
Supervise shift activities to ensure safety and efficiency.
Develop crew skills for maximum efficiency and safety.
Address individual and team issues promptly with appropriate escalation.
Discuss daily priorities with Mine General Supervisor to implement the current mining plan.
Monitor equipment availability and coordinate with Maintenance for priorities.
Assist in recruiting new personnel and maintain adequate crew levels.
Ensure safety meetings are conducted and incident investigations are completed.
