Job summary

Peabody Energy in Gillette, Wyoming seeks a Mechanic to join the Maintenance team at the North Complex mine. The role focuses on preventive and breakdown maintenance for fixed and mobile plant in an open cut environment, with weekend/shift requirements as needed.

The candidate should have 3 years of preventative maintenance experience, a preferred trade certificate, and strong communication skills. A Mine Foreman's Certificate is preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• 3-year experience in preventative maintenance preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Currenty hold or willing to obtain Mine Foreman's Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work area and plant for hazards, damage and defects.
• Examine drawings or specifications to determine work methods, sequence of activities or manufacture of components.
• Diagnose faults or breakdowns.
• Estimate time and materials required to complete jobs.
• Raise orders for materials.
• Undertake repairs or component changeouts as required.
• Clean and maintain tools and work area.
• Train other personnel or apprentices (if required).
• Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned by the company.
