Job summary

Peabody is seeking a Welder/Mechanic to perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on fixed and mobile plant in open cut environments. You will inspect equipment, diagnose faults, and execute repairs while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Trade Certificate preferred; candidate should be able to work rotating shifts and lift 10-50 lbs. This on-site role is based in Carlisle, IN, supporting Bear Run operations where safety, integrity and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work area and plant for hazards, damage and defects
• Examine drawings or specifications to determine work methods, sequence of activities or manufacture of components
• Diagnose faults or breakdowns
• Estimate time and materials required to complete jobs
• Raise orders for materials
• Undertake repairs or component changeouts as required
• Clean and maintain tools and work area
• Train other personnel or apprentices (if required)
• Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements
• Other duties as assigned by the company
