Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation in Alaska is seeking a focused equipment operator to support safe, efficient mine operations. You will operate haul units and perform wear inspections, maintaining SOP compliance and communication with supervisors.

You will handle pre-shift checks, report hazards, coordinate with team, and uphold safety policies while meeting production goals and documenting all loads and movements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Experience with heavy equipment preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to work in a team and with limited supervision.
• Shift work, overtime, weekends and holidays required.
• Progression through wage scale is contingent upon completing attached checklists.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment in accordance with SOP and supervisor instruction to achieve production goals.
• Visually inspect the high wall, haul roads, and dumps for ground stability and hazards and report problems.
• Promote safety by communicating with haul road traffic about equipment locations and hazards.
• Check and monitor equipment during pre-operation, inspections, and while operating.
• Perform and document walk-around and pre-shift inspections; monitor instrument gauges.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform minor maintenance as needed.
• Maintain radio contact with co-workers and supervisors for operating and safety instructions.
• Record all load types and locations hauled, including sources and destinations.
• Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
• Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
