Job summary

Coeur Rochester in Nevada is seeking a Mine Engineering Superintendent to lead the mine engineering function, ensuring the life-of-mine plan is safe, achievable, and cost-effective. The role oversees planning standards, drill and blast design, ground control, and survey, while driving field-credible execution.

The successful candidate will spend significant time in the field, mentor engineers, and act as the senior technical voice in operational decisions where ground conditions affect the plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of ten years of progressive mine engineering experience, including at least three years supervising technical staff.
• Professional Engineer registration or an equivalent professional designation.
• Proven ownership of a mine plan across horizons, open pit planning, drill and blast design, and reconciliation.
• Experience contributing to reserve estimation and annual budget preparation.
• Proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or Maptek, and MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; leadership capability.

Responsibilities

• Exercise stop-work authority for safety concerns and enforce safety standards in design, review, and field inspection.
• Own the integrity and accuracy of the mine plan across horizons and budgets.
• Approve designs and drill/blast packages, pit development sequencing, and project designs.
• Provide technical oversight of stockpile and waste dump management.
• Lead the mine engineering team, mentor staff, and develop the next generation of engineers.
• Identify and lead business improvements to reduce cost per tonne and improve productivity.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, geology, and corporate technical services to ensure plan alignment.
