Job summary

SRK Consulting (U.S.), Inc. is seeking an Engineer / Construction Cost Estimator for Mine Closure & Reclamation to support closure planning and cost estimating across operating, development, and legacy sites.

The role involves preparing cost estimates, developing unit rates, and creating bases of estimate while coordinating with civil, mining, environmental, and geotechnical teams and engaging in client meetings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
Approximately five or more years of relevant professional experience.
Experience with engineering design, heavy civil construction, estimation, or mine engineering.
PE registration preferred or active progression toward licensure.
Ability to travel to mine sites as required.
Familiarity with estimating practices, unit-rate development, and cost databases.

Responsibilities

Prepare construction and reclamation cost estimates for financial assurance, permitting, feasibility studies, and life-of-mine planning.
Develop quantity take-offs from drawings, Civil 3D models, GIS data, and reports.
Develop unit rates using pricing sources, productivity, vendor quotes, and cost databases.
Prepare bases of estimate and document assumptions, methodologies, and risks.
Support mine closure planning and heavy civil construction evaluations.
Work with multidisciplinary teams and participate in site visits and client meetings.
Prepare technical reports, memoranda, proposals, and presentations.
Manage assigned work within project budgets and schedules.
