Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting, LLC in Milwaukee is partnering with a commercial specialty subcontractor to hire an experienced Project Manager. You will oversee subcontractor projects from award to completion, focusing on profitability, scheduling, and client relations.

Seeking 3–5+ years of PM experience, a strong construction background, and the ability to coordinate with GCs, customers, and field teams. This role requires hands-on field involvement and accountability to deliver profitable results.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of project management experience in a specialty subcontractor setting.
• Strong construction background and understanding of subcontractor operations.
• Proven ability to manage projects profitably.
• Willingness to get into the field and be hands-on when needed.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial subcontractor projects from contract award through final completion.
• Take ownership of project budgets, schedules, costs, and profitability.
• Coordinate with general contractors, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Work closely with field teams to ensure projects are properly planned and executed.
• Understand when to be in the field and address project needs proactively.
• Monitor project costs, billing, change orders, and financial performance.
• Coordinate materials, manpower, scheduling, and production requirements.
• Communicate regularly with GCs, customers, and internal leadership.
• Identify potential issues early and develop solutions before they impact the project.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to company standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with general contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Take full ownership of project performance and profitability.
