Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Prosperity, SC is seeking a dedicated Millwright to troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures at our plywood plant. You will perform preventive maintenance per schedule, keep a clean, safe work environment, and support continuous production uptime on a 12-hour night shift (2/2/3).

The role requires experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, precision alignment of motors and bearings, and troubleshooting hydraulics and pneumatics.

Qualifications

• One year of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• One year of experience aligning motors, couplings, bearings and pumps and lubrication.
• One year of troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes and conveyors.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, remove and install mechanical drive components: bearings, pulleys, belts, sprockets, gears and motors.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Perform lubrication and preventive maintenance; assist in scheduled parts replacement.
• Follow safety rules and wear protective equipment.
• Willing to work 12-hour night shifts and overtime; provide personal hand tools.

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring for a dedicated and reliable Millwright at our plywood plant in Prosperity, South Carolina to be responsible for the troubleshooting and repairing of mechanical failures. This role will also perform preventive maintenance according to a scheduled system while maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Come and start a great career with a great company!

What You Will Do

• Inspecting, removing and installing mechanical drive components to include but not limited to: bearings, drive/idler pulleys and sprockets, belts, chains, gear reducers, and motors
• Troubleshooting and repairing various components in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Performing lubrication preventative maintenance and troubleshooting lubrication related failures
• Participating in preventative maintenance development and scheduled parts replacement
• Adhering to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
• Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed
• Must be willing and able to provider personal hand tools

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• At least one (1) year experience in industrial mechanical maintenance within an industrial, military, or manufacturing environment
• At least one (1) year of experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps and lubrication
• At least one (1) year of experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors

What Will Put You Ahead

• Three (3) years or more of experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment
• At least one (1) year of experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• At least one (1) year of experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics systems and reading hydraulic schematics
• At least one (1) year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
