Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Millwrights for a project in Wilmington, NC. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months.

The role requires reading blueprints, rigging and alignment work, and performing maintenance and preventive tasks. Candidates must follow safety and quality procedures, with potential for travel and full-time work on site.

Qualifications

• Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprint and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Dismantle machines, using hand tools.
• Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Construct foundations for machines with hand tools and materials.
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, and precision instruments.
• Unload, inspect and move equipment with rigging and overhead cranes.
• Understand load properties of cables, ropes, hoists, cranes and signal systems.
• Fit bearings, align gears and wheels, attach motors and belts per drawings.
• Perform precision leveling and alignment to measure angles and distances.
• Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
• Operate within strict accuracy limits.
• Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
• Detect and respond to dangerous conditions.
• Maintain regular attendance; significant travel may be required.
• Perform other duties as required.
