Job summary

Wallstreet Sand Co. in West Texas seeks a skilled Millwright Mechanic to maintain mining equipment at the plant and sand mine.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and related machinery. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, own tools, live within an hour of the site, and at least 2 years' hands-on experience; MSHA certification or ability to obtain before start is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must have own tools.
• Must live within an hour of the Plant.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, precision devices, and welding equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics, and understand technical manuals.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• MSHA certification or ability to obtain prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mining machinery, including conveyors, feeders, pumps and gearboxes.
• Inspect malfunctioning equipment, analyze vibrations or noises, and read schematics or manuals to resolve issues.
• Conduct pre and post shift inspections of all equipment.
• Complete hazard assessments and follow MSHA and OSHA regulations.
• Use precision tools to align rotating equipment, shafts, motors and couplings.
• Perform cutting, grinding, and welding repairs to components and parts.
• Use hoists, cranes, winches and rigging gear to move heavy machinery components safely.

Description

Wallstreet Sand Co. is a leading West Texas frac sand producer delivering high-performance wet and dry sand solutions to the Permian Basin’s oil and gas industry. Based in Kermit, Texas, the company was built with a clear focus on operational excellence, disciplined growth, and reliable in-basin supply.

We are currently looking for a Millwright Mechanic. This position involves various mechanic and maintenance duties at the sand mine and plant. Responsibilities include:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on specialized mining machinery, including conveyors, feeders, pumps and gearboxes.
• Inspect malfunctioning equipment, analyze vibrations or unusual noises, and read complex schematics, blueprints, or technical manuals to resolve issues.
• Conduct pre and post shift inspections of all equipment and machinery.
• Complete hazard assessments and follow MSHA and OSHA regulations.
• Use of precision tools to align rotating equipment, shafts, motors and couplings to prevent excessive wear and downtime.
• Perform cutting, grinding, and various welding tasks to repair chutes, liners, components and parts.
• Use of hoists, cranes, winches and rigging gear to safely move, lift and position heavy machinery components.

This position works on a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts.7 days on and 7 days off rotating between night and days.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must have your own tools.
• Must live within an hour of the Plant.
• Completion of a formal industrial mechanic/millwright apprenticeship or technical trade certification preferred.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency with hand and power tools, precision devices, and welding equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics, as well as understand technical manuals.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• MSHA certification or the ability to obtain prior to start.
