Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Millwright for our Chinese Camp, CA facility. The role involves maintaining and repairing all mechanical parts and machinery in the mill, and operating arc welders, cutting torches, hand tools, forklift and welding trucks while performing general maintenance in a safe, efficient manner.

Ideal candidates have 3 years' relevant experience or educational equivalence, strong welding and tool-use skills, and knowledge of pneumatics and

Qualifications

• 3 years' recent verifiable related work history or educational equivalent.
• Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs
• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics preferred
• Industrial/sawmill maintenance is a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in mill
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift and welding truck
• Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
• There is occasional heavy lifting while working with both hot and cold weather environments
• Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times
