Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a qualified Millwright / Maintenance Technician to support our Anderson, California sawmill. You will maintain and repair mechanical systems, troubleshoot equipment, and fabricate parts as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

2 years of recent sawmill/heavy industrial work history or equivalent education.
Experience machining on manual mill and lathe.
Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs.
Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings.
Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects.
Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.
Boom truck and crane operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
Dismantle machinery, locate malfunctions, and replace parts as needed.
Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of devices.
Conduct diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality.
Assemble and maintain mechanical systems and equipment for efficient operation.
Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck.
