Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a Millwright - Maintenance Technician for our Burney, CA facility. This full-time role entails maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, welding, cutting, hydraulics, and operating various shop equipment.

Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required during peak production times. Earn from $33.60 to $39.85 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 2 years recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education
• Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings
• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus
• Boom truck and crane operation experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility
• Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from stock or fabricate replacement parts as needed
• Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices
• Effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality
• Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck
• Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed
• Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
• Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times
