Job summary

The Scoular Company is seeking a skilled Millwright to support grain elevator asset networks. You will lead maintenance projects, supervise crews, and coordinate parts and scheduling to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Expect to inspect equipment such as legs, drag, conveyors and loaders, and coach teams on best preventive practices to reduce downtime and drive efficiency across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant field.
• Demonstrated welding, torching and rigging proficiency.
• Willingness to work at various heights and in inclement weather.
• Ability to travel up to 70% with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house projects and repairs in collaboration with asset teams.
• Provide leadership to Construction and Laborer crews on non-routine tasks.
• Coordinate crew scheduling and inventory support for project needs.
• Inspect grain asset equipment and monitor performance.
• Coach facility teams on preventive maintenance best practices.

Job description

The Millwright will assist facility teams with small to medium sized improvement/repair projects within our grain elevator asset network. This position ensures that Scoular equipment and physical assets are always in safe condition and good working order as well as oversee new installations of equipment and foundations. This role requires maintenance knowledge and experience to lead Scoular employees through non-routine tasks and mechanical issues to ensure we are meeting safety, compliance and efficiency expectations.

Job Responsibilities

• Partner with Scoular asset teams to plan and complete in-house projects and repairs.
• Responsible for providing leadership and direction to Construction and Laborer crews regarding non-routine task completion.
• Partner with facility management to coordinate crew member support and scheduling to assist with project completion, as well as inventory support in ordering needed parts.
• Inspect and monitor grain asset equipment. Examples: legs, drag, conveyor belts, skid steers, wheel loaders.
• Coach and train facility team members on preventative maintenance best practices.
• Work closely with Operations Project Team to support asset locations to address maintenance needs proactively to minimize breakdowns.

About You

Minimum

• Maintain valid driver’s license and medical card.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant field.
• Demonstrated understanding and proven experience welding, torching and rigging.
• Highly skilled in problem solving techniques.
• Willingness to work at various heights, in confined spaces and in inclement weather.
• Experience in bulk handling operations.
• Lifting and rigging experience.
• Demonstrated agility to navigate change and proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel up to 70% to meet business needs, requiring overnight stays.
